Playlist: Your Favorite Christmas Songs Covered by Greenwich Village Artists

No one can deny Greenwich Village is a place with a unique and cool history.

Especially in the 60s, our little neighborhood was known as home to many great musical (and not so musical) artists—each valuing a specific uniqueness to their bold voice.

You might’ve read our piece on artists discovered in Greenwich Village, but in case you haven’t, it’ll serve you well to know that artists like Jimi Hendrix, Barbara Streisand, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, and Norah Jones got their start here.

Our little Greenwich Village hotel even had the honor of hosting Mr. Dylan (more than once, and for long stints, might we add), The Mamas and Papas, Bo Diddley, and Chuck Berry.

Because you probably love Greenwich Village as much as we do (or at least we hope you do!) and the bold creativity that comes from it, we’ve compiled a playlist of holiday songs covered by some of these special Greenwich Village artists.

We’ve also included artists who have stayed in the hotel (think Chuck Berry), artists who have played at numerous jazz clubs in the city (think Ella Fitzgerald), and those who happen to (famously) just love the City in general (e.g. Frank Sinatra and John Lennon), just in time for the New York City winter and holidays.
