Take a self-guided Dylan tour using an app
We were just kicking around on the internet when we happened upon this cool freebie. An interactive Bob Dylan self-guided Greenwich Village Walking Tour for your smartphone!
Highlights include:
The club he played in
The Bitter End, a music club on Bleecker Street where Dylan often played in the mid-70s that is still vibrant and introducing Villagers to new music every night today.
His Townhouse
Dylan purchased the townhouse located at 94 MacDougal Street in 1969 and lived with his wife and children smack dab in the middle of his beloved Greenwich Village.
Where he had a beer
The Whitehorse Tavern on Hudson Street was a favorite hangout the legendary singer-songwriter. The Whitehorse has been pouring drafts and serving up food since 1880.
The hotel he frequented
Last, but certainly not least, Room 305 in our own Washington Square Hotel (formerly the Hotel Earle) was Dylan’s home when he initially arrived in New York in 1961!
After your walking tour, stop by for a meal at the North Square Restaurant or have a cocktail in the Deco Bar or listen to music in the Lounge.
Events are ongoing at North Square, see the schedule here
