Here’s something cool. Does everyone know about The Paris Theater? It’s the last surviving single-screen movie theater in Manhattan. Art films and foreign flicks are the usual fare…and you can pretty much be guaranteed that each film they screen will be a winner.
So the Paris is located right across the street from the Plaza Hotel, and the two businesses are offering a cool promotion through October 22nd. Victoria and Abdul, a film directed by Stephen Frears, is currently playing. Dame Judi Dench stars as Queen Victoria, and the film relates the story of her unusual friendship with a young Indian clerk (Ali Fazal). Abdul travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Royal Jubilee and opens the Queen’s eyes to a changing world. (As far as we’re concerned, just say the words “Judi Dench” and we’re in.)
So after you see the flick, exchange your ticket at the Paris box office for a special invite to continue your royal experience. With the purchase of the infamous Plaza afternoon tea, you can receive a complimentary glass of champagne. Not into tea? No problem. Make an evening reservation and receive a complimentary Queen Victoria Rose Tea Cake with the purchase of any cocktail or evening fare.
Whichever you choose, the Plaza experience should make you feel like a royal!
