So, we’ve been bemoaning our rotten weather lately. (Okay, okay…whining is a more appropriate word. Sorry about that.) But we are cheering up! This Friday and Saturday it’s supposed to be in the 70sF/20sC!
We’re tossing that heavy coat in the closet, grabbing our open-toed shoes, and if we wear a scarf, it will be for fashion purposes only thankyouverymuch. Above all, we will spend as much time outdoors as possible.
Here are three things to do outside this weekend:
Hit a flea market: There’s the Brooklyn Flea in Dumbo-probably the biggest and best of all of them. Hundreds of vendors with gather either in Industry City (Saturday) or DUMBO (Sunday). What can you expect to find? Furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques, jewelry and arts and crafts by local artisans and designers.
Grab a drink outdoors: The rooftop bar at the Jane Hotel will send you back in time with its elegant oak bar, Persian rugs, and clubby furniture. The lounge offers killer cocktails and even more killer views of the Hudson River. Grab a lavender and white peach bellini and head outside to take in the sunset.
Explore our parks: Why not take the Iconic Views of Central Park tour? This Saturday, the 14th, Central Park Conservancy guides will give you an insider’s look at some of the most iconic features of this beautiful oasis in the city. Check out Sheep Meadow, Bethesda Terrace, Cherry Hill, The Lake and other wonderful sites. It’s only $15 bucks for an hour-and-a-half tour. Well worth it, in our opinion!
