That’s the Japanese name for New York’s Cherry Blossom Festival!
Here’s what you need to know:
It’s an annual celebration not only of the spectacular cherry blossoms that bloom each spring here in the city but of Japanese culture as well. On April 28th and 29th between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., head to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden via the 2 or 3 train to marvel at one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful productions.
The weekend of the 28th is when the flowers are expected to be in their full blooming glory. Along with the lovely flora, the festival will have on hand a Japanese tea room, an art gallery, and a mini flea market.
And entertainment! Taiko drummers, samurai sword masters, dance parties and stand up comedy will be the order of the day.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students and seniors. Kiddos under 12 are free.
Hae a great weekend, everyone!
