So this is cool. The fine folks of Washington Square Park have announced a family movie night! Disney’s Moana will be screened at dusk next Wednesday, May 24th.
For those not in the know, the film tells the story of Moana, the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian tribe who is chosen by the ocean itself to renuite a mystial relic with a goddess. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of saving her people.
Head over to Fountain Plaza in the park earlier than the 8 p.m. start time to score a good seat. (It’s first-come, first-served.) Bring a blanket and a picnic because…well, what outdoor movie isn’t made better by an overstuffed sandwich and potato salad?
Oh, and did we mention that it’s free? Yup, it is.
