G’yaaarrrrr! That’s pirate speak for, “Hey! Happy Monday, people. What’s up?”
We’re seriously in pirate mode because we’re looking forward to a treasure hunt this weekend on Randall’s Island.
For the uninitiated, Randall’s Island is located right across the East River from Manhattan. There you can find athletic fields, a driving range, greenways, tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic grounds. Music lovers may recognize it as the home of the Panoramic Music Festival, Governor’s Ball, and the Electric Zoo Festival.
Anyhooo, this Saturday the isle will play host to The Great Randall’s Island Treasure Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Explorers big and small will learn how to use a map and compass (which will be available on-site) to navigate a fun course searching for oh-so-valuable treasures. Along the way, they’ll encounter puppets, unlock island secrets, make crafts and chow down on expedition-worthy refreshments.
The fun will be located at Field 80 on the island, just a subway ride from the hotel!
