Let’s Celebrate the Summer Solstice!

Tomorrow will be the Summer Solstice!  The sun will rise here at 5:25 a.m. and set at 8:30. That’s over 15 hours of sunshine that we can take to the bank.

Yoga enthusiasts can celebrate the longest day of the year with free classes right in the middle of Times Square. The location sounds crazy, we know, but somehow finding your inner peace among the crowds, costumed characters and craziness of the crossroads of the world makes a lot of sense.

Classes start at 7:30 a.m. and continue pretty much hourly all day until right after sunset.

Registration is a must, but if you find yourself in the neighborhood you can take your chances by just showing up and if there’s room, they’ll let you in. Participants cannot sign up for multiple classes–only one.

Not only are the classes free, but yoga mats and bottled water will be provided.

After class, check out the Yoga Village on Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets. Sponsors will have various tents set up with information, free samples and coupons.
