If there’s a better way to kick off the new year than laughing, we haven’t found it. Here’s an event that’s guaranteed to make you giggle, guffaw and, well, at the very least, chuckle. The 12th Annual 50 First Jokes returns to The Bell House in Brooklyn this Friday, January 5th.
The premise is exactly what you think it is. Fifty comics kick off 2018 be performing their first joke of the year. There are a lot of great stand-up comedians here in NYC, so there’s no doubt that a joke from fifty of the best and brightest up-and-comers will have the audience rolling on the floor (or at least elicit that chuckle).
John O’Donnell will host the event. He’s a veteran of comedy festivals worldwide, been featured in the New York Times and is a favored guest of popular comedic podcasts, so he’s certain to be up to the task.
It’s a quick ride on the F train from the hotel to The Bell House in Brooklyn for the show. Meatballs, hummus, turkey chili and other yummy noshes are available an hour before the show, so no one will go hungry. But sorry, young people, it’s only open to those 21 and over. The good news? Tickets are a mere 15 bucks.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Click here for more info.
