Everyone who loves books as much as we do, raise your hand! Well, Books Beneath the Bridge is tailor-made for you. Authors will read from their works followed by a Q&A and a book signing. Yes, we know that you’ve probably been to many of these events.
What’s better about these signings is that they take place on the Granite Prospect steps in Brooklyn Bridge park. Attendees will have magnificent views of the skyline while listening to the writers’ prose. The evenings are curated by local, indie bookstores so the talent is sure to be new and interesting.
On Monday, August 7th, Brooklyn’s own Jill Eisenstadt will read from Swell, a darkly funny new novel about a New York family, a conversion of faith, and a haunted house in Rockaway.
The next Monday, renowned poet Jenny Zhang will read from her first short story collection, Sour Heart, which is the premier publication of Lena Dunham’s Lenny imprint at Penguin Random House. Joining her will be Alissa Nutting, whose second novel, Made for Love, is a humorous tale of sex dolls and technology.
All events take place at 7 p.m.
