Westminster Kennel Dog Show

More than 3,000 dogs representing 187 breeds and varieties at the 137th annual show  where dogs are judged across seven divisions (hound, toy, nonsporting, herding, sporting, working and terrier). The Better Chinatown Society lights 500,000 firecrackers to welcome on the first day of the Chinese New Year. (This year will be the Year of the Snake.)  There will also be lion dances, craft vendors and food booth.

Cochon 555: 5 Chefs, 5 Pigs, 5 Winemakers

Local celebrity chefs Missy Robbins, Alex Guarnaschelli, Leah Cohen, Elizabeth Falkner and Shanna Pacifico will each turn a whole heritage-breed hog into a nose-to-tail feast for 20 judges and 400 guests. chef will turn a whole heritage-breed hog into a snout-to-tail smorgasbord for 20 judges.
