I know, I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. But if you’re planning to come to the city and want to attend one of the popular holiday shows or ballets with your little ones, now’s the time to get tickets. In between checking out the Rock Center tree and department store windows, bring the kiddos to a real New York City holiday event. Here are a few crowd favorites:
Tickets are on sale for The New York City Ballet’s version of George Ballanchine’s The Nutcracker. The magical world of toy soldiers and Sugar Plum Fairies are just as magical for adults as they are for the youngsters. Performances start on November 29th and run through January 4th. Tickets start at $89.
Yeah, it’s really corny. But face it, isn’t the whole holiday season a big, fat ball of corny? And kids invariably love it. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, indian pharmacy featuring the Rockettes, starts this week and runs through the end of the year. Tickets start at $39.
A Christmas Story runs from December 11th through December 29th at the Theater in Madison Square Garden. The musical version of Ralphie’s painful yearning for his Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle has been playing to sold-out audiences for the last few years. Tickets start at $63.
Follow up any of the shows with a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity and you’ll have one happy kid on your hands.
